October is “Kids Free” Presented by Mission Fed at San Diego Zoo ...

Every day in October, children 11 years old and younger receive free admission to the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park as part of Kids Free presented by Mission Fed. Throughout the month, the Zoo and Park are offering additional kid-friendly activities, educational shows, and the opportunity to observe creatures from amphibians to zebras. The San Diego Zoo was founded in October 1916, and Kids Free honors this event.

During Kids Free, daily activities at the Zoo include animal encounters, shows, special animal enrichment and educational activities. New at the Zoo is RIO: The 4-D Experience featuring the Zoo’s macaws and a 4-D movie, RIO: Rainforest Adventure. The 12-minute movie tells the tale of a gang of bird smugglers who capture the last two blue macaws on Earth, Blu and Jewel. The birds work together, despite Blu’s inability to fly, as they try to escape the claws of evil cockatoo Nigel. With a variety of in-theater special effects, the movie experience takes guests on a journey through Rio de Janeiro while sharing the challenges facing wildlife around the world. Tickets ($6 per person or $5 for Zoo members) can be purchased at the Zoo entrance or at the theater.

On Oct. 5 and 6 at the Zoo, Fisher-Price® presents Live from Little People Place!™, a live musical show performed by Fisher-Price Little People® costumed characters. Live from People Place! is an interactive show where friends come to learn, play, sing, dance and discover. The show is geared toward children ages 5 and younger. Children also may meet the Fisher-Price Little People at a meet-and-greet on both performance days.

Kids can take part in the Koala Club for Kids at the Australian Outback classroom where they can learn about and meet animals, color animal pictures, and pick up a map for a scavenger hunt around the Zoo. At the Koalafornia Boardwalk, Dr. Zoolittle’s show features the rain forest, with Zoo costumed characters posing for photos before each show. At Camp Critters at Wegeforth Bowl, a child will be chosen to participate in the fun-filled show featuring California sea lions and their animal friends.

Kids Free also features scheduled animal enrichment activities. Guests can look for an activity symbol located at various animal habitats and may catch an animal enjoying a special treat: a tiger gnawing on a bone, a meerkat playing in a pile of leaves, primates investigating gourds, an elephant taking a dust bath, a Galapagos tortoise eating a pumpkin or a jaguar enjoying an icy snack.

At the Safari Park, guests can enjoy Kids Free events every Saturday and Sunday that include animal shows, keeper talks, animal ambassador presentations, and crafts. Robert the Zebra talks to guests in a digital, animated form on a large screen where he can see the people who have come to visit. He asks questions, cracks jokes, talks about zebra life, and is very curious about humans. Robert also is celebrating his birthday the entire month of October so his interactions will include sing-a-longs and birthday fun! At Tiger Tales storytelling, families can enjoy a storybook reading followed by an animal presentation.

At the Park’s Shiley’s Cheetah Run, where a cheetah runs off-leash on a 330-foot track at speeds up to 70 miles per hour, one young volunteer will be chosen to enter the running track and compare his or her speed to that of a cheetah. Another child volunteer will be chosen to participate in the Frequent Flyers Bird Show, where guests can watch as birds of various species show off their flying talents – with many soaring right over the audience.

Visitors to the Safari Park can learn about flamingos, lemurs, bats and even lions at scheduled keeper talks and meet some furry, feathered and scaly Park animals up close during animal presentations. At special activity booths located throughout the Park, children can unleash their creative sides while learning about the wonders of the wild.

The San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park offer guests the chance to see animals, experience a day with family and friends, and learn how everyone can help animals through conservation. To make a visit to the Zoo and Park more engaging, families can download “101 Things to Do” at the Zoo and Park at www.sandiegozoo.org/kidsfree for a list of activity suggestions for each visit.

Guests are encouraged to bring a camera to capture some of their favorite memory-making moments and take part in the Kids Free Instagram Challenge during Kids Free. Parents may document their children at the Zoo or Safari Park and tag photos on Instagram with #sdzkidsfree. A behind-the-scenes adventure for the whole family will be awarded to one winner each week in October. Coloring pages featuring Zoo animals can be downloaded on the Kids Free website, colored and then be submitted for prizes at the Zoo or Park. The Kids Free website also offers a quiz on animals found at the Zoo and Park.

The Zoo has celebrated Kids Free in October for 28 years; this is the sixth year the program has been offered at the Safari Park. The Zoo and Park are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day in October. From Oct. 1 through 6, the Zoo will have extended hours until 6 p.m. All children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a paid adult during their visit to the Zoo and the Safari Park. A howling good time is in store during Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's ...

Boo at the Zoo is a seasonal safari with fun surprises at every corner. After parking your broomsticks you’re invited to tour the Not-So-Haunted Greenhouse, bust a move at the Monster Mash Dance Party and take a voyage with the Pirates of the Scare-ibbean on the Spooky Train Ride.

Keep your eyes open for magic shows, cellists, skeleton banjo players, giant bubble makers and animal encounters while you explore the Zoo.

With so much to see and do, you might have to come twice!

Guests are encouraged to bring flashlights to illuminate some of the darker areas of the Zoo.

Northeast Ohio’s most-visited year-round attraction, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. LFCTillWeDie | Kop can't get enough of Suarez

The message was loud and clear. Luis Suarez is back and hope springs eternal for Liverpool.

The Uruguay striker marked his first Premier League start for five months with a clinical double to lift the gloom generated by back-to-back defeats.

Suarez provided the injection of class the Reds required to overcome the challenge of struggling Sunderland.

In doing so he celebrated the birth of his son in style and demonstrated exactly why Brendan Rodgers and the club’s owners fought so hard to keep him at Anfield.

As Suarez strolled down the tunnel at the end of a satisfying afternoon’s work, Elvis Presley’s ‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You’ was blaring out across the Stadium of Light. The soundtrack was fitting.

There was a debt that needed to be repaid and strong leadership at Anfield ensured he wouldn’t be allowed to move on until he had coughed up.

In the North East he provided a timely instalment.

It could have been a case of once bitten, twice shy where Reds fans are concerned.

But the reality is that Suarez is a player of such exceptional talent that you can’t help but delight in the fact that he’s wearing your club’s colours.

The travelling Kop showed their appreciation for his efforts as his name echoed around the Stadium of Light.

The affection remains strong because the bottom line is Suarez continues to give everything for the cause and is capable of making the difference in Liverpool’s challenge for Champions League qualification this term.

Of course this was far from being a one-man mission. Daniel Sturridge was hugely impressive as he emphatically answered those who questioned whether he would continue to flourish following Suarez’s return.

There was a school of thought that Sturridge had hit a purple patch in the Uruguayan’s absence because he was the focal point of the Reds’ attack.

That being the leading man was some kind of ego boost he required in order to perform.

But Sturridge showed he’s just as happy being the support act as he unselfishly created both of Suarez’s goals.

The £12million man got lucky with his 18th goal for the club in just 24 appearances when referee Howard Webb failed to spot the fact that he had unintentionally converted Steven Gerrard’s corner with his arm.

Yet there was plenty to admire about the relentless shift Sturridge put in as he held the ball up, brought teammates into play and was always a willing runner down the channels. It was no surprise that in the closing seconds he lay stricken with cramp.

The Suarez and Sturridge partnership is an exciting one and their heroics ensured Liverpool capitalised on the fact that Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea had all dropped points 24 hours earlier.

Victory lifted Rodgers’ side up to second place as the sight of the Black Cats brought them some welcome good fortune after the double dose of disappointment against Southampton and Manchester United.

It was hardly a vintage display as once again standards slipped after the interval and the Reds came close to squandering a 2-0 advantage.

But they dug deep and weathered the storm before Suarez wrapped up the points late on – Liverpool’s first second-half goal in some 404 minutes of action.

Rodgers had kept faith with the XI who had started at Old Trafford and Suarez wasted little time making his mark. Latching on to Jordan Henderson’s pass, he shrugged off Sebastian Larsson but his right-footer flashed wide.

When Gerrard’s 20-yard free-kick was parried by Keiren Westwood, Martin Skrtel followed up to slam in the rebound but the Slovakian’s joy was shortlived as the flag was up for offside.

Sunderland’s wretched start had cost Paolo Di Canio his job with caretaker boss Kevin Ball looking to stake a claim for the job on a permanent basis.

His players responded to his call to show some pride and fired up by a partisan crowd they caused the Reds plenty of problems.

Sebastian Larsson rattled the bar with a curling free-kick before Rodgers’ side broke off the shackles and took the lead in the 28th minute.

There was controversy as it went in off Sturridge’s arm but considering that four years ago the Reds were beaten by a beach ball in this fixture, no-one was in the mood to apologise.

Eight minutes later Liverpool doubled their account.

Sturridge turned provider as he controlled Gerrard’s raking cross-field pass and sped past Carlos Cuellar down the right. The cross with the outside of his left foot was inch perfect for Suarez to slid it home.

Suarez lifted his shirt to parade a T-shirt with the words ‘Welcome Benja’ above a picture of his wife and two children with ‘Los Amo’ (I love them) below it – a tribute to his son who was born on Thursday.

Simon Mignolet clearly suffered from a bout of nerves on his return to the North East as his handling was less than convincing.

However, the Belgian keeper did make a fine save just before the break as he stuck out a boot to deny Craig Gardner.

Rodgers may need to have a re-think about the half-time refreshments in the dressing room because the Reds have made a habit of starting second halves sluggishly and so it proved again.

Within seven minutes the deficit had been halved.

Ki Sung Yueng was given far too much time and space 25 yards out, Mignolet couldn’t hold his sweet strike and Emanuele Giaccherini made him pay.

The atmosphere was transformed and it took a sprawling save from Mignolet to prevent Gardner from restoring parity.

Liverpool’s sloppiness in possession gave Sunderland hope. The game was far too open and it took some desperate defending to protect their slender lead with Martin Skrtel once again outstanding.

Rodgers’ side were reduced to hitting the hosts on the break with Victor Moses and Kolo Toure going close before a slick counter-attack secured victory in the 89th minute.

Mignolet’s quick throw found Suarez who burst forward before clipping a lofted pass into the path of Sturridge.

The England striker skipped past Giaccherini and squared for Suarez who swept it left-footed into the net.

It was Suarez’s seventh goal in six meetings with Sunderland – how the Black Cats must be sick of the sight of him.

In stark contrast, Kopites just can’t get enough.

1.The Egg and Wine Diet: Yes, you read that right, it’s an egg and wine diet! This does not sound safe or healthy at all. One meal calls for drinking half a bottle of wine and yes, eggs. Really? That sounds insane!

2. The Chewing Diet: With this diet you don’t even really eat your food. You can eat whatever you want and still loose weight. All you have to do is chew your food between 30-80 times and then spit it out. No wonder you’ll lose weight, you literally don’t eat anything!

3.The Sleeping Beauty Diet: This one is solely based on the fact that you can’t while you sleep, therefore the more you sleep the less you eat causing, which means you’ll loose weight. Another pro, you get more beauty sleep. Hold on though, don’t forget you’ll barely be eating or getting any nutrients you need to be health (and look health so that beauty sleep means nothing). Fun fact: Elvis Presley was a fan of this diet!

4.The Cigarette Diet: This diet all started in the 20’s when a cigarette company, Lucky Strike’s, put out a campaign geared towards women that said “Reach for a Lucky instead of a sweet”. I think it’s safe to say that everyone should look for a healthier diet than replacing food with nicotine, which can lead to lung cancer.

5.The Tapeworm Diet: This must be the craziest one we came across because while you may lose weight, there’s a huge possibility you could die from ingesting a tapeworm because it’s a parasite that feeds off of you! Sorry, but I think I would much rather keeps those extra pounds or find another diet than try this.

How did Elvis Presley really die ?

Elvis died on August 16, 1977 in the kitchen at Graceland. After being found on the kitchen floor, Elvis was rushed to the hospital where he was officially pronounced dead. The coroner recorded the cause of death an indigestion. While true in the strictest sense (indigestion basically means difficulty in digesting too much food, accompanied by abdominal pain, heartburn, and belching,), the attending physicians deliberately omitted the fact that what had apparently caused Elvis' indigestion was an overdose of Deadlicious rock’n’roll pies. These pies included salmon, chicken, vegetables, and beans, to name a few. After this information was kept secret, Vernon Presley, Elvis' father, had the complete autopsy report sealed. It will remain sealed until 2027, fifty years after The King's death. Elvis' body is buried at Graceland.

The Night of the Long Scissors / Camilo Ernesto Olivera

On 13 March 1963, during a commemoration on the steps of the University of Havana, Fidel Castro said: “For there walks a specimen, another byproduct we must fight (…), many of these lazy ‘hipsters,’ children of the bourgeois, walk around in their too-tight pants, some of them with a guitar thinking they’re Elvis Presley. And they have taken the extreme liberty of going to public spaces and freely organizing their ‘feminine shows’ (…), they are all linked, the little lumpen, the lazy, the Elvis Presleys, the tight jeans.

Then Castro added, “Don’t let these ‘hipsters’ think the streets of Havana are the streets of Miami.”

Also on a March 13th, but in 1968, Castro himself launched the so-called General Revolutionary Offensive, an operation that gave the coup de grace to small- and medium-sized private businesses, and that also killed the nightlife in the capital and in the whole country.

In the final months of 1967, in Czechoslovakia, the process of social democratization began that was remembered as the “Prague Spring”; something that set off an alarm in almost all the countries tied to the Soviet axis.

On 21 August of that year Russian military power occupied Czechoslovakia and dismantled the government of that country with the consent of the then Kremlin strongman, L.I. Brezhnev. This same year, in May 1968, there was the student rebellion that turned France upside down.

Meanwhile, in Cuba, in the months before March 1968, the usual audience of the nightclubs walked up and down La Rampa trying to kill their boredom. They take a turn around the central tower of the Coppelia Ice Creamery, along with spells at the cafe known as El Carmelo at 23rd, near the intersection of this street and the Avenue of the Presidents.

Other places frequented were the terrace of the cafe at N and 21, next to the Hotel Capri, the gardens of the Hotel Nacional gardens, and, in the area where it was located at the time, the Czechoslovak House of Culture.

A segment of youth, those who were assigned the adjective “enfermitos” — little sick ones — walked La Rampa at risk. The “hipsters” of the time, with their tight pants of Chinese khaki, their sleeveless shirts with embroidered decorations and their modified workboots. Long hair was the privileged headache of some.

In those days the young poet from Holguin, Delfín Prats, read his poems, “Language of Mutes,” in public. The Beatles’ White Album was listened to in secret.

At the same time, Ana Lasalla and her enthusiastic court of rabid leftists ravaged Vedado. The frenzied Communist lady actress wielded her scissors against manes and miniskirts. These scissors had their longest night on 25 September 1968, exactly 45 years ago today.

Around 9:00 at night that Saturday, a police cordon with uniformed and plainclothes officers fell on the area. The indiscriminately took prisoner everyone from casual passersby to pimps who besieged the Hotel Capri, where sometimes Greek or French sailors from ships anchored in the harbor stayed. The detainees were classified into three groups: Homosexuals, Hippies, and the third classification: Improper conduct.

According to those who experienced the events, two members of the rock group Los Pacificos were arrested very close to the corner of N and 23rd. That group, like another named Los de León (later, Los Kents), were very popular at the time among young rock fans in the Vedado area.

The group Los Pacificos didn’t survive the consequences of that harsh and bitter night and broke up.

In his speech on Tuesday, 28 September, Fidel Castro referred to the events of the previous Saturday. He justified the raid as a part of the offensive being waged against “social evils.” He generally accused those arrested of being involved in vagrancy, pimping minors and other things of this type.

On Sunday 12 October, the newspaper Juventud Rebelde (Rebel Youth) published an extensive compendium about the raid that had occurred days earlier. The headline read, “Yankee Dream Destroyed, the boys of the fourth world.”

Other articles appeared in the style of: “How do bands of juveniles converted into vehicles of imperialist propaganda think and act?” There was also a photo essay, with images of some of the boys arrested under the title, “Is this what you want for your son?”

Specifically, an article by the journalist Alfredo Echarry noted: “Encouraged by the role models of imperialism and inspired by the workings of their youth gangs, they try to give a structure to disorganization. Immediately, groups and bands identified by different names begin to emerge, among them: The Zids, Los Chicos Now, Los Chicos Melenudos, Los Betts, Los Chicos de la Flor, Los Chicos del Crucifijo, Los del Palo, Los Sicodélicos, Los del Banano…” Within Echarry’s article, the term “ideological divisiveness” was the condemnatory stigma.

Today, 45 years later, the ghosts of that night of the long scissors seem to be revived in the schools. The “moralizing” offensive of Raulism evokes the demons of “the night of the three P’s” and that tragic 25 September 1968.

Although it seems incredible, the Revolutionary terror lurks still, ready to attack and “bring to heel” a society ever more disenchanted and rebellious.

Fashion History | La Mode Selon Justine

Hello !

Je parcourais les nombreux articles que mes consœurs écrivent chaque jours depuis maintenant pas mal de temps.

Des tendances, des styles, des idées, des découvertes, des coups de cœurs et coups de gueules… Comme si nous pouvions changer quoi que se soit à notre petit monde qui tourne malgré tout bien rond.

Non, plus maintenant, en tout cas pas tout de suite.

La mode c’est comme la danse. Si tu veux savoir tout faire, commence par la base, le classique. Dans mon cas, si je veux tout savoir, il faut commencer par la base, l’histoire. Ce que beaucoup d’entre nous ne font pas forcément. Je trouvais donc intéressant de faire découvrir aux lecteurs/lectrices pourquoi nous en sommes arrivés là et comment.

Un plongeons dans notre passé qui devrait intéresser pas mal de monde… Du moins je l’espère !

(Pour information, je ne vais pas écrire cet article en anglais car il y a beaucoup de termes que je ne connais pas et je ne voudrais pas faire d’erreurs.)

Commençons par le commencement…

Avant le 20ème siècle

- Les vêtements étaient un mode de vie plutôt qu’une mode en soit. Ils servaient d’indicateurs d’âge et de classe sociale.

- Création du Dandisme.

- Les 4 grands acteurs sont : Louis XIV, Brummel, Baudelaire & Worth

- Brummel est l’initiateur du costume avec la cravate

- Worth fit le premier à travailler par collection et par saison. Il est à l’origine de la maison de couture parisienne, de la haute couture et des défilés. Grâce à ses créations, il est passé du simple statut d’artisan à celui d’artiste et était considéré comme de la haute bourgeoisie.

Les années 1900 – 1914

- Ce sont les grands débuts de la Haute Couture.

- Les canons de beauté de l’époque sont encore dans les règles des siècles passés, chevelure abondante et silhouette en S.

- En 1900, il y a l’exposition universelle à Paris qui commence à ouvrir les parisiennes sur le monde.

- Les 4 grands couturiers de l’époque sont Doucet, Poiret, Suarès & Breton.

- Doucet est l’un des premiers à ouvrir une maison de couture parisienne comme on les connaît aujourd’hui. Il arrive à déplacer le champ social de la mode.

- Paul Poiret a fait de la Mode un phénomène de société et arrive à mettre l’art au centre de ce monde en ouvrant l’école Martine qui regroupe tous les arts qui existent pour favoriser la création. Il libéra la femme et remettra sérieusement en question le corset. Dans ses créations, il laisse apparaître les formes avec beaucoup de fluidité. Il mis en avant le turban, les culottes et les pantalon bouffant.

- Apparition de Coco Chanel & Cocteau, Elsa Schiaparelli, Dali et Picabra.

- Mariano Fortuny créa la robe Delphos et le plissé de soie.

Les années 1914 – 1918

- La Guerre bouleverse tout. Les femmes doivent travailler et s’habille donc beaucoup plus fonctionnelle qu’auparavant.

- Le kaki devient tendance.

- Apparition des pantalons pour femmes, des jupes cloches, volantes ou plissées.

- CHANEL débarque et vient faire évoluer la mode avec des vêtements sobre de sport, elle utilise le tweed et le jersey et instaure la mode des cheveux courts.

- Mis en valeur des seins au niveau du bien-être.

Les années 1919 – 1929

- La mode à l’allure garçonne fait fureur. C’est Chanel qui la lança. Anti-romantique au possible, se sont les jeunes femmes un peu garçon manqué qui sont minces et élancée et qui veulent de la simplicité mais avec un tissu travaillé. On y trouve des inspirations du folklore slave. Apparition de la fameuse petite robe noire.

- Il est très clair que Paris domine le monde de la mode.

- Développement de la parfumerie, du prêt-à-porter de luxe et démocratisation des vêtements de sport que Chanel a lancé auparavant.

- 4 autres couturiers font parler d’eux : Jeanne Lanvin, Molyneux, Jeann Paquin et Jean Patou.

- Pour LANVIN, elle est à fond dans le courant romantique et n’adhère pas à l’allure garçonne. Elle créa les premiers vêtements pour enfants.

- Molyneux est aussi dans le romantisme. Sa spécialité est la robe à la coupe irréprochable très empirique.

- Paquin développa les techniques de promotion et créa la "réclame" qui est l’ancêtre de la publicité. Elle organisa les premiers défilés tels qu’on les connaît aujourd’hui.

- Patou fit des vêtements de sport sa spécialité et fit des collections où l’on pouvoir voir apparaître le corps des femmes et leur bronzage.

Les années 1930 – 1938

- C’est l’époque de la récession et de la crise, l’évasion est donc très demandée.

- Les maisons de couture se lancent presque toutes dans le prêt-à-porter et commencent à poser leurs griffes sur les accessoires.

- On peut voir un gros retour sur les valeurs traditionnelles, ce qui signifie que les femmes reviennent à leurs places initiales et redeviennent un peu plus féminine. Finit la mode garçonne. Bonjour à l’élégance, la fluidité, la taille marqué et les cheveux longs et ondulés. Mis en avant à cette époque de Nina Ricci.

- Apparition de nouvelles grandes maison : Balenciaga et Jean Desses.

- Paris commence à être concurrencé par Londres (Burberry) et New-York. Explosion du Glamour Hollywoodien.

- Les étoffes évoluent beaucoup avec les coupes en biais, le jersey de soie, le synthétique et le stretch.

- Pour la journée, les femmes mettent des jupes (genoux / mi-mollet) et des chemisier.

Les années 1939 – 1945

- Mode = résistance.

- S’habiller devient une nécessité mais on essaye de rester élégant malgré tout. Les femmes sont très ingénieuses et le système est Roi.

- Balenciaga développe une ligne sobre et chic, spéciale pour les courses hippiques.

- Jacques Fath met en valeur la taille fine, les jupes voltigeantes et plissées.

Les années 1946 – 1959

- L’époque du New Look.

- L’atmosphère est très austère mais les gens ont envie de changement.

- Beaucoup d’expositions et de défilés pour faire revivre la mode à Paris.

- La Haute Couture revient en force avec beaucoup d’élégance et de raffinement. Finit les coupes choc !

- Les formes féminines sont à l’honneur donc plus d’épaulettes, des bustes étroits et des tailles marquées sont dans le vent.

- DIOR est la grande révélation et vient révolutionner tout cela. Des coupes ultra féminine, ultra opulente avec des jupes amples très marquée à la taille. Il est considéré comme un grand visionnaire.

- En 1957 plus de la moitié des exportations françaises sont en rapport avec la mode.

- Chanel fait son grand retour après des années d’absences avec le fameux petit tailleur et les codes Chanel aujourd’hui devenus mythique.

- Les nouveaux arrivants sont Balmain et Givenchy.

- Balenciaga joue sur la modernité et s’inspire de l’Espagne. La marque créée une collection pour tous les corps de femme. Un succès.

- Un nouveau mouvement apparaît, celui de la culture "jeune" qui vient des USA. On voit Elvis Presley, le rock, le sportwear, le jean et le blouson, mais aussi les lunettes de soleil, les short et les bikinis ! C’est à ce moment là que le Blue Jean débarque en France !

Les années 1960 – 1967

- La société de consommation commence à prendre de l’ampleur.

- Le culte de la jeunesse est installé.

- La génération du Baby Boom sont en quête de liberté et font la révolution sexuelle, du rock’n'roll, rejette la bourgeoisie. Les hommes ont les cheveux longs et les femmes mettent des tailleurs pantalons.

- Les stylistes londoniens cartonnent mais Paris reste la capitale de la Mode.

- Yves Saint Laurent débarque dans l’arène après avoir été bien formé par Dior.

- L’art revient dans la couture, mais cette fois sous forme de clin d’œil ou d’hommage.

- La mode se tourne alors vers le futur et on voit apparaître les robes et les bottes plastique !

- Un certain Paco Rabanne commence à faire parler de lui avec des robes fabriquées comme des bijoux fantaisie et à partir de métal et plastique.

Les années 1968 – 1976

- "Flower Power" – Peace mon frère ! Avec les guerre, les armements et l’écologie autant vous dire que les jeunes en ont ras le bol et remette en cause les conventions. Le mouvement Hippie est né. Tout devient fait main, naturel et le style gitane champêtre est tendance.

- Sonia Rikiel œuvre pour la libération de la femme à cette époque.

- Des nouvelles silhouette apparaissent avec des robes maxi ou mini, les Hot Pants et même les fameux pat’d'eph’.

- Saturday Night Fever et le Disco fait fureur ! Veste étriquée, paillettes, bottines, pat’d'eph’ et look androgynes débarquent.

- Un gros déclin de la Haute Couture à ce moment là. Décès de Coco Chanel (qui a du être malade de voir du mauvais goût partout) et Balenciaga ferme à Paris. Mais YSL résiste bien grâce à ses muses comme Andy Warhol, Catherine Deneuve etc…

Les années 1977 – 1989

- Encore une petite crise économique. Des mouvements radicaux arrivent et le conservatisme est de rigueur. Mais l’optimisme et la prospérité des années 80 reviennent. Le culte de l’argent, de la réussite sociale et professionnelle arrivent à notre grand bonheur !

- Le mouvement Punk est là. Et Vivienne Westwood en joue.

- La mondialisation commence. Tous les pays s’y mettent. USA, UK, Allemagne, Japon, Italie…

- On revisite extrêmement le passé. "La mode n’invente plus mais réinvente".

- Les messieurs apprécie de voir apparaître les Super Tops Models avec des corps qui vont en faire rêver plus d’un !

- "le fric c’est chic"

- En France, Karl Lagerfield arrive chez Chanel. Monsieur Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler et Christian Lacroix arrivent. Rien que ça ! Du côté des américains on va découvrir DKNY, Calvin Klein et Ralph Loren. Au Japon ça sera Kenzo et Yamamoto, en Italie on verra Armani ou Versace. En bref… Que du beau monde !

Les années 1990 – 1999

- La Mondialisation bat son plein ! Un peu de récession, de peur pour la Terre et de besoin d’authenticité se fait ressentir. Le mouvement hippie chic voit le jour.

- Le Rap & Le Grunge arrivent. Oui oui… en même temps ! La mode s’inspire de la rue.

- le "pur" et le "be yourself" domine. Faut être décontracté quoi.

- L’unisexe débarque. Jean et T-shirt pour tout le monde !

- La Haute Couture se voit relancée et LVMH recrute. Givenchy et Jonh Galliano sont au sommet. Dolce & Gabbana a du succès et Gucci dévoile son glamour à l’italienne.
