This collection of Elvis Presley’s earliest recordings vividly illustrates what a talented singer he was. He would quickly become the “poster child” for rock ‘n’ roll, more acceptable to a still-segregated United States than the black artists who had blazed the trail before him.

The track listing for this album is

1. That’s All Right

2. Blue Moon Of Kentucky

3. I Don’t Care If The Sun Don’t Shine

4. Good Rockin’ Tonight

5. Milkcow Blues Boogie

6. You’re A Heartbreaker

7. I’m Left You’re Right She’s Gone

8. Baby Let’s Play House

9. Mystery Train

10. I Forgot To Remember To Forget

11. I’ll Never Let You Go

Elvis never really made any albums, making albums was something that came along in the 1960s. Before that, albums just tended to be compilations of popular songs, “greatest hits” albums as it were. By the time album-making became part of an artist’s creative process, Elvis was busy making pointless movies and had lost the originality he had in the sessions on this album.

How many of the songs on this album do you know? Which are your favourites?
