Its 6:34 this morning and I am 34000 feet high, flying to Adelaide to see me family and attend my Pa’s funeral.
I don’t like flying. I don’t like the feel of my ears before they pop. I don’t like being high. I love the ground… so much.
I remember my flight to Japan. I didn’t mind that flight. It was a bigger plane and I was completely distracted by the fact I was going to Japan as well as the film I was watching (which if I remember correctly, starred Johnny Depp). The flight was less rocky and much more stable. There was a bit of turbulence but not much. There was also a lot of quiet.
I bought fabulous earphones with my phone a few weeks ago and I can barely hear anything, which comes in handy on a small plane with small children. I was considering creating a flight playlist but as I am a little freaked out, I have decided instead to play my favs:
-Oh Pretty Woman: Roy Orbison
-Jessie’s Girl: Rick Springfield
-Tutti Frutti: Elvis Presley
-Don’t You (Forget about me): Simple Minds
-American pie: Don McLean
-Royals: Lorde
-Roar: Katy Perry
-You and I: Ingrid Michaelson
Those are the ones I have listened to so far. I still have Ricky Martin, more Elvis Presley and definitely some Frank Sinatra.
I am writing as much as possible to take my mind off of the vibrations of the plane and the noises that my earphones can’t drown out.
I am looking forward to see dad’s side of the fam. I don’t see them often due to distance so it will be nice to catch up; despite the circumstances.
