Tony Bennett recently held an interview in Japan earlier this month, where he talked about his upcoming jazz album with Lady Gaga. The album was recorded during Gaga’s down-time a few months ago in Spring, while the singer was recovering from her hip injury and was also completing her own album ARTPOP.
Also Bennett confirmed that the album will be released early next year in January, two months after Lady Gaga’s ARTPOP comes out on November 11th. Read what Bennett had to say about the album and Gaga below!
“In January of next year we will release the album. It is a very sensational jazz album, with great jazz artists on it, it came out wonderful. I consider Lady Gaga the Picasso of the entertainment world. She is, you will find out. She is very intelligent and she is very right and she is a very talented person.
I just love her so much, we’re just like brother and sister together. We will always admire one another and do things together. We recorded all great standards, quality songs; George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, songs like that. With a big swingin’ band and great, great, jazz artists playing.
Lady Gaga is already the biggest artist that ever came out of the United States, over Elvis Presley, over Madonna and everybody else. She’s just unbelievable, people love her so much and she loves them right back.”
