Folks, “The House Of Tomorrow” is here…and tomorrow is apparently very expensive and filled with Elvis memorabilia…could be worse, it could be Justin Bieber. Anyhow, with an asking price of $9.5 million, the home where rock and roll legend Elvis Presley and his former wife Priscilla spent their honeymoon is on the market, and thanks to its weird (but somehow really cool) layout and a quote from “Look” magazine printed in 1962, it’s still being referred to as “Palm Springs’ House Of Tomorrow”. The home where Lisa Marie Presley (of marrying Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage fame…to be fair, she has also has had a pretty successful music career) was most likely conceived was once owned by The King and its current owners have basically turned it into a shrine to the “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Jailhouse Rock” singer; they even have the original deed to the place, complete with Elvis’ signature, hung up on the wall. The home is in a great neighborhood and features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a fireplace, a private garden, a secluded backyard with a pool, and a master suite that has a gorgeous view of the local mountains. The home’s non-traditional layout is designed as a series of four concentric circles on three levels, under a roof that has been described by critics as “batwing-styled”. The mid-century modern pad is a site to behold, and evokes both a old-school weird and a classy vibe. It basically says exactly what it is: a home purchased but an eccentric millionaire with good taste…well he had good taste in homes, those whacky suits with the capes were a bit much for our tastes. Overall, the home isn’t nearly as big as we’d expect it to be for almost ten million bucks, but it comes with a ton of history the you’re paying for and a design that you just can’t recreate these days. Essentially, you’re paying for a portal back to the 1960s, so if you miss those days and have a ton of money to spare, you should buy this place. Also, we’d like to apologize for our trashy headline, but we just really liked the idea of zombie Elvis getting frustrated because his computer only has Internet Explorer and it won’t load multiple listing properly.
