I listen to today artists but I think that best pop ever was done in the Eighties. I am still waiting for song that can outperform Phil Collins’ Against All Odds, Cindy Lauper’s Time After Time, Tina Turner’s Private Dancer, Michael Jackson’s Human Nature, Madonna’s Live to Tell, Soul II Soul’s Back To Life, even Milli Vanilli (yeah ) to cite just a few

Forgot to say I am FOREVER a fan of late Seventies and early Eighties Reggae: Bob Marley, Black Uhuru, Steel Pulse, Third World etc
Sounds of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel in late sixties is one of best songs ever made, Rod Stewart’s Sailing will live forever and yeah every decade has plenty of good songs. But let me put the question differently: do you have the impression that when artists get rich and famous they tend to screw things up and mess their music ?
