Last night was the first semifinal show of the season. Ten acts came from advancing in the quarterfinal bouts, and two of the acts were Wild Card picks. At this stage in the competition, you need to bring it all. With that, we get some amazing performances and incredible shows. Six acts will advance tonight. Who stood out?
Forte – Act of the Night
There’s nothing new to say about these guys. Every time they perform, they deliver. Their performances exceed expectations as we listen in awe. They’ve solidified a spot in the finals easily.
Collins Key
Even though this performance wasn’t as structured and smooth as the last, Key is able to produce a jaw-dropping performance. With the help of a random audience member, the judges randomly picking features and the viewers at home using Twitter, the final result is still amazing.
Taylor Williamson
This is the comedian you should look out for. He’s funny, awkward and likable. There were nothing but laughs at Radio City Music Hall during his performance, and his last joke was the funniest I’ve heard in a while. It all gave him a standing ovation. I won’t spoil it. Watch the video.
Duo Resonance
This is still a great act. I believe they were really good last week, but as you can see, there were other acts that beat them. Luckily, thanks to Judge Heidi Klum, Duo Resonance came back as her Wild Card pick. You can’t help but see the passion between these two as they perform their dance. It truly is a love story between them, and the chemistry can’t be matched by others.
Angela Hoover
I still think Williamson was the better comic of the night, but Hoover’s impressions are still the best we’ve seen in a while. This time around, Hoover performed several impressions instead of focusing on only one or two throughout her set.
Cami Bradley
I just don’t think Fenley delivered last night. He’s a great singer, but the song choice was his mistake. Bradley was much better with her performance, and her take on “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley made it her own. Her likability is also a definite plus.
