Hard to believe that Johnny Carson passed away 8 years ago today. He was the king of the late night talk shows. He left behind a great legacy. He hosted The Tonight Show for 30 years! Great job, Johnny! I miss you very much.
I enjoyed watching him when I was a teenager in the late 1970s right up until Johnny retired in 1992. I cried when he did his final show. When I was in high school in the early 1980s, I was inspired by him and his sidekick Ed McMahon to go into broadcasting. I head to Emerson College in Boston in the fall of 1982 to learn all about broadcasting.
None of my teachers suspected that I had a form of autism called Asperger’s Syndrome because it was completely unknown at the time.
