Elvis Presley devotees from around the world gathered on the lawn of Graceland for the 78th birthday party of their idol in Memphis, Tennessee, on January 8, 2013. The party included a towering cake and attendees sung 'Happy Birthday' to the King. Memphis Mayor A C Wharton Jr waxed poetic to the crowd by saying, "Like coffee and cream, grits and gravy, peanut butter and bananas ... Memphis and Elvis is a combination that was just meant to be."
