Live versions from Elvis` first Las Vegas season in the summer of 1969 have appeared on Collectors Gold and Today, Tomorrow and Forever. Elvis sang the song live hundreds of times, right until his last year on the road, even occasionally trying it out as an alternative show-closer to ” Can`t Help Falling In Love. ” Elvis made a studio cut of ” Funny How Time Slips Away ” on June 7th, 1970 for album release on Elvis Country. This version has since appeared on Platinum : A Life in Music, Walk A Mile In My Shoes, Great Country Song, The Country Side Of Elvis and the 2006 Elvis Country themed release. He sang it live on Elvis as Recorded at Madison Square Garden ( and An Afternoon in the Garden ), and as part of the Elvis on Tour documentary in 1972 ( a rehearsal version later came out on FTD album Elvis On Tour—The Rehearsals ).
