Call the Midwife The AlbumThe BBC’s hit period drama Call the Midwife returns on January 20th. Not only will there be a second series to follow on from the Christmas special, but there will also be a soundtrack released in time for Mothers’ Day. The programme is set in the 1950s and centres on a group of midwives and nuns, so it’s quite fitting that the album will be released in time to celebrate mothers everywhere. Featuring original 1950s recordings, cast performances, musical interludes and the show’s theme tune, the collection includes the following hits: Elvis Presley’s ‘Blue Moon’, Petula Clark’s ‘Baby Lover’, Doris Day’s ‘Que Sera’, Perry Como’s ‘Magic Moments’ and Dean Martin’s ‘Memories Are Made Of This’. Call The Midwife – The Album will be in shops from February 18th.
