The Rise and the Continued Influence of the Beatles | Magic Sing ...

Young people today may not be aware of the impact the Beatles and Elvis Presley had on the music world and pop culture in general. By today’s standards, the style of the Beatles and Elvis may seem old fashioned or even boring, but in the time that they were becoming prominent, they were considered very daring. The Beatles wore their hair to about collar length, this is not even considered long hair for men by today’s standards, but at the time it was looked at as being very unusual. Not everyone liked this look, but the young people of the time really took a liking to the Beatles style and music. Especially the girls, as anyone who has seen a film of a live concert with the Beatles can tell. Something about these young musicians really made the young girls go crazy.

The music is hard to hear over the happily screaming girls. The young Beatles were often chased by girls as they left a concert. The music they played became very popular, although there were some older people who did not appreciate it. Despite the older people’s opinions, the Beatles remained popular for several years, exploring the different sounds they could make and often writing songs that sent a message that the young adults really wanted to hear. Songs like “All You Need Is Love” were well received by the generation that was marching in the streets to end the Vietnam war. In the late sixties, the Beatles ceased recording together. Each member of the band went on to successful solo careers.

Well into the 21st century people still listen to the Beatles music. Even those who were not even alive during the heyday of the Beatles enjoy their music. The early work of the Beatles seems simple compared to much of the pop music of today, but their music had a great influence of all the pop music that came after them.
