Direction for Mash-up « Shaun Staunton

Sky Movies 007 Launch

I’ve been thinking about what direction I want to take my mash-up and I think I am onto something. I saw this trailer for the new James Bond channel on sky showing all the movies in preparation for the new release, Skyfall.

It is shows a range of the Bond’s all, what looks to be, in one car chase. Clearly this is not possible and/or ever been filmed. But by the use of selective scenes and angles, they have managed to create a nicely compiled scenes displaying one long chase.

I have previously mentioned that I want to make a picture instead of a video and I think I may have just the thing. When I was younger, I went on holiday with the family, where? I couldn’t even try to being to guess but I do recall a painting we admired in a shop. It showed Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe kissing under the moonlight. Unfortunately, I cannot find it on the internet but I have found one extremely similar.

As far as my knowledge extends, this moment never happened. I really like the idea of an “impossible picture” and whilst searching for that picture, I found this.

I have seen this before, possibly in Franky’s & Benny’s but this is the direction I want to take my mash-up. I want to create an impossible picture consisting of people who have not (or could possibly never have) met in their lifetimes.

The harder part is choosing who I want to mash-up as I want to have a strong concept behind the picture. I haven’t thought into who I will be choosing as of yet but I do want to have some ideas ready for any unexpected spotlight checks during lectures.
