X Factor 2012 bosses are reportedly hoping to get this year’s stars to duet with holograms on the live shows.
Stars such as Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley could make appearances on the show later this year, ‘singing’ alongside the wannabes.
The Sun reports that show chiefs were impressed with Celine Dion’s duet with Elvis on American Idol earlier this year.
“The X Factor has to keep getting better so they are looking at holograms as a way of creating a splash,” a source claimed. “Imagine Elvis or Amy Winehouse at the grand final. It would be incredible TV and an amazing experience for contestants.”
The insider added: “The technology’s there and has been used on several big stages. The X Factor final is perfect for something like this.”
Last year saw the finalists sing alongside their own mentors, with Tulisa, Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland all taking to the stage.
