Steve's RV Travelogue: Heading back West

It was good to visit with my family again. My sisters are doing fine. Suzy has here challenges, but she seems to stay one step ahead all the time. Krid is the stable one of all of us. She is very secure with her family.

Mom has had a tough year. She lost Dad. She gave up her car keys. She moved into a better living situation, near Krid, where us kids aren’t constantly worried about her.

She likes her new place. The people are friendly. There is always something to do. She has dinner every night in the facility dinning room. But, she laments: “It’s not Home!”.

I sometimes wonder what it will be like when I have to come to the same realization. Will I even know that I need a change? I like to think so. But then…

I am already back in South Dakota at that little RV Park I like so much in Salem. I stayed at a Casino last night in western Minnesota with all intentions of making it a four night stay. There were only five RV’s in their park. But, the band Boston is playing tonight. The sites are sold out and there is a waiting list of seven. That means I have to move on.

site

A concrete pad, full hookups, a fire ring, a picnic table, and a ring side seat for the concert. NOT!

I had a site right in front of the grandstand and outdoor stage. It would have been a great experience to enjoy a live concert of Boston from my RV. It’s another thought I’ll have to keep in the back of my mind the next time I’m traveling through.

mugs

The Casino gave me two Elvis Presley coffee mugs because it’s my first visit with them. They also gave me a gambling card with $5.00 credit. I’m no gambler, but by accepting the card, the night’s stay was reduced another $5.00.

A great value for $25.00 per night. The Jackpot Junction Casino, of the Lower Sioux Tribes, outside of Morton, MN.
