It’s no Graceland, but the former home of legendary Beatles member John Lennon has hit the market. The mansion that Lennon and first wife Cynthia owned in the mid-1960s is listed at an estimated $23.5 million. Known as Kenwood Mansion, the Weybridge, England house is set on an acre and a half of land, and contains a study and attic, where Lennon was said to have installed most of his musical equipment at the time.
The British music paper NME says the house proved to be a good investment for Lennon. In July of 1964, Lennon bought the mansion for an estimated $56,000 and doubled his money when he sold it to songwriter Bill Martin four years later, when he married Yoko Ono and moved to New York. The house has changed hands a few more times since and was recently sold in 2007 for an estimated $9 Million.
