Elvis Week — A week of activities celebrating the late icon Elvis Presley will take place this week throughout Memphis, Tenn., particularly at his home, Graceland, which is now a museum. The rock ’n’ roll pioneer will be honored with a conference, music, a Hawaiian-themed party and much more. The event is highlighted by a 35th anniversary concert featuring Elvis footage on a large screen at the FedEx Forum in downtown Memphis. Tickets to the concert are $65-$300 and are available by calling 800-745-3000. Details about other events, which continue through Aug. 18, can be found at www.elvis.com.
Ten Foot Polecats — The Ten Foot Polecats’ Coast to Coast Tour will indeed take the band to points as far west as Oregon and as far east as New York. The trio from Massachusetts will make one of those stops at the Smoke & Barrel Tavern in Fayetteville. The juke joint and Americana group is preparing to release a new album, “Lost at Sea,” this fall. Admission to the 8 p.m. Monday show is free.
