A pair of white underwear worn by Elvis Presley in 1977 are going up on the auction block. The unwashed, stained underwear will go under the hammer at an auction of Elvis Presley pop memorabilia in Stockport, Greater Manchester, next month. They are expected to go for anywhere between $11,000 and $14,000.
UK auction site, Omega Auctions, claims that the King's underwear (soiled with unidentified excrement) have been preserved since he wore them under his iconic jumpsuit during a concert in 1977. The BBC is reporting that the underwear were specially designed not to show any lines beneath the white jumpsuit.
The underwear were obtained from the estate of Presley's father, Vernon Presley.
Elvis Presley died 35 years ago this month, on August 16 1977.
