Deftones in Studio Working on Covers + More - Exploding In Sound

[theprp.com] According to the interview below, the Deftones will spend the tail end of this month tracking new covers in the desert. If the bands recent pictures on their Instagram are any indication, these sessions are now underway.

As previously reported, the covers are expected to serve as b-sides for their upcoming seventh studio album. Band frontman Chino Moreno had previously stated that they were aiming to put their stamp on songs by Elvis Presley and Earth, Wind & Fire during the sessions.

Meanwhile, though a tentative October 9th release date was originally announced for the bands as-yet untitled new album they themselves have mentioned it might not make that street date. For now, a new show has popped up online. It will take place at The Warfield in San Francisco, CA on October 10th and feature Scars On Broadway as support. No word yet if more shows with the same bill are being planned or not.
