Seen any ghosts lately?

The audience of the "Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival" concert thought they did, as they were shocked to see a virtually resurrected Tupac Shakur…in hologram form. The ultra-realistic (and ultra expensive!) hologram appeared to be fully lifelike and even addressed the crowd of Coachella, a concert developed three years after the rapper's passing in 1996. Tupac may be the first step towards a revival of the technology, as there are plans of developing holograms for other deceased musical icons like Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley.

While these holograms take years to develop and program, the amount of attention and publicity they attract could justify the marketing investment.

What do you think about holographic promotions like these?

Aren't there ethical issues with "raising the dead" for the sake of promoting a product?
